Vitalik proposes gas cap to enhance Ethereum security, stability

Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has introduced Ethereum Improvement Proposal (EIP) 7983, a significant development aimed at enhancing the Ethereum network’s security, stability, and compatibility with zero-knowledge virtual machines (zkVMs). The core of EIP-7983 lies in its proposal to establish a hard cap on transaction gas, limiting it to a maximum of 16.77 million gas units per transaction.
