NUTLEY, NJ — A Nutley resident who thought she was investing in cryptocurrency was recently defrauded out of more than $100,000, police said Thursday.
According to the Nutley Police Department, a woman conversing with someone on the website Bumble engaged her in a conversation about cryptocurrency. She then attempted to invest with the unknown party, and sent over $100,000 before realizing she had been defrauded.
Police are investigating the theft, authorities said.
