With the rise of digital art and the popularity of NFT’s, the art world is in a state of flux. Some argue that NFT’s are saving the art world, while others believe that they are destroying it. It’s been three years since the launch of Crypto Kitties, the game that (for better or worse) put non-fungible tokens, or NFT’s, on the map. In that time, we’ve seen a lot of excitement and experimentation around this new technology, but also a fair share of disillusionment. Some have proclaimed NFT’s to be nothing more than a fad, while others believe they hold great promise but have yet to reach their true potential.
I fall into the latter camp and think NFT’s do have great potential, but so far we’ve only scratched the surface of what’s possible. In order for NFT’s to truly take off, we need to see more high-quality art and content being created specifically for this new medium. When it comes to digital art and content, quality has always been important. But it’s even more important with NFT’s because there’s so much more riding on them.
With traditional digital art, you might create something just for fun or as a way to express yourself; if it’s popular, great, but if not, no big deal. With NFT’s, however, there’s a financial incentive to create popular content since you can earn money from selling your creations. This creates a bit of a chicken-and-egg problem: in order for artists and creators to be motivated to produce high-quality art for NFT’s, there needs to be enough demand for it in the first place. And in order for there to be demand, there needs to be quality art available. It’s a tricky cycle to break out of, but it’s essential if we want to see NFT’s reach their full potential. (Of course there are different use cases for NFT’s such as utility tokens, etc. But we are discussing the digital art NFT’s in this article).
So how do we raise the bar when it comes to NFT art and content? More platforms need to emerge that focus on quality over quantity. Right now there are too many platforms that allow anyone and everyone to upload anything they want without any sort of vetting process. This leads to a lot of low-quality art and content cluttering up the space and makes it hard for people who are looking for quality stuff to find what they’re looking for.
If we want people to take NFTs seriously as an artistic medium, we need platforms that curate their content carefully and only showcase the best of the best.
It is undeniable that NFT’s have brought about a new era of digital art. NFT’s are digital assets that are stored on a blockchain, and they can represent anything from a piece of art to a tweet. Because they are stored on a blockchain, they are unique and cannot be replicated. This uniqueness has made NFT’s extremely popular among collectors. In the past, digital art was often seen as inferior to traditional art because it could be easily copied and distributed. With NFT’s, digital art can be collected and sold just like any other piece of art. NFT’s have also made it possible for artists to monetize their work in new ways. In the past, artists would typically sell their work for a one-time fee. With NFT’s, artists can sell their work for a percentage of the sale price every time the work is sold. This model is similar to the way musicians earn royalties from the sale of their music.
The popularity of NFT’s has led to a boom in the digital art market. In the past years, the value of the digital art market has grown from millions to billions of dollars. This growth is expected to continue as more people become aware of NFT’s and their potential. However, not everyone is happy with the way NFT’s are changing the art world. Some believe that NFT’s are causing the art world to become more exclusive. They argue that only those who can afford to buy NFT’s will be able to participate in the digital art market. Others believe that NFT’s are causing the art world to become more superficial. They argue that the focus on the monetary value of art is causing people to lose sight of the true value of art. Regardless of the criticisms, it is clear that NFT’s are here to stay. The question is not whether NFTs are good or bad for the art world, but how the art world will adapt to this new technology.
Why is most of the NFT Art is Low Quality?
There are a few reasons why NFT art is often of low quality. First, it’s important to understand that NFT art is often created by amateur or hobbyist artists. These artists may not have the same level of skill or experience as professional artists, which can result in lower quality art.
Another reason why NFT art is often low quality is because it’s often created quickly and without much thought or planning. This can lead to rushed and sloppy artwork.
Finally, NFT art is often created using simple or basic tools and techniques. This can further reduce the quality of the art.
How to Find Value in NFT Art
Despite the fact that NFT art is more often of low quality, there are still ways to find value in it. One way is to look for art that has a personal connection for you. This could be art that represents your favorite hobby or interest, or art that reminds you of a special memory.
Another way to find value in NFT art is to look for art that is created by talented or skilled artists. While there may not be as much of this art available, it can be worth seeking out.
Finally, you can also find value in NFT art by looking for art that is unique or rare. This could be art that is one-of-a-kind, or art that is not commonly available. By looking for art with a personal connection, art created by skilled artists, or art that is unique or rare, you can find NFT art that is valuable to you.
