German luxury and commercial vehicle automotive brand Mercedes is planning to launch its non-fungible token (NFT) collection on FTX.
This is not the first time Mercedes will be exploring the NFT industry. In January, the company launched its first NFT project, NF-G, in partnership with international crypto article collective ART2PEOPLE. Five international artists contributed to the project by creating a unique one-off digital work in the form of an NFT. The artists are Charlotte Taylor & Anthony Authie, Antoni Tudisco, Roger Kilimanjaro, Klarens Malluta, and Baugasm. They are across different fields, including music, graphic design, architecture, luxury design, fashion, and more. Mercedes launched NFG on Nifty Gateway, and the artworks sold for between $222 and $1,554.
At the time, Mercedes said one of the primary purposes of the NFT project was to connect the G-Class world with the fast-growing NFT industry. The founder of ART2PEOPLE, Can Florian Ahegger, said the collaboration was a dream come true. He declared his love for the extraordinary pieces.
Now, Mercedes is taking a step further into NFT by partnering with British digital artist MBSJQ. The luxury automaker is releasing three exclusive NFTs “inspired by the passion and positive outlook of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team.” Discussing the NFT collection in a blog post, Mercedes revealed that it consists of three exclusive NFTs. The luxury vehicles company said they are “closely inspired by the passion and positive outlook of the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 team.
The first NFT is “Evolution” and is “bundled with a real-life item”- George Russell. Notably, Russell is currently competing in Formula One for Mercedes. The blog post noted:
“In this futuristic setting, Astro is appreciating, respecting and connecting with a true piece of art, The Mothership. Here lies Evolution… where good things take time. When you have a consistent, inspiring, and passionate racing driver within your team, the future is something to be excited for.
Based on Lewis Hamilton, the second NFT is “Home Coming”. The company said the NFT celebrates explicitly “all things British.” The scene shows Astro jumping out of the car, showing. The entire image depicts utmost creativity, positivity, and free-flowing energy.
Lastly, the third NFT by Mercedes – “Mothership” celebrated “all things Super Human.” The automaker wrote in the announcement:
“Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1, the true meaning behind teamwork, vision & passion. A team built on positivity, a team built on success. The Mothership is the hub of the team, a place where the drivers become one. A place where they work together to achieve the same goal; success.”
