MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL, MN – Bringing the next generation of baseball collecting to Twins Territory, the Minnesota Twins and Candy Digital will gift all attendees of the club’s Friday, June 10 home game vs. the Tampa Bay Rays with a free, exclusive Byron Buxton NFT (Non-Fungible Token). The first such giveaway in Twins history, this unique digital collectible features multiple images, Buxton’s e-signature and a customized notation of the game’s date, location, matchup and ticket holder’s seat location. Fans must have a game ticket in the MLB Ballpark app for the June 10 Twins-Rays game at Target Field to receive this exclusive NFT. Fans in attendance with a ticket in the Ballpark app will receive a redemption email on or around Sunday, June 12.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Candy Digital to provide Twins fans with this next-generation baseball collectible,” said Chris Iles, the Twins’ senior director of brand experience and innovation. “This new category of fan giveaway not only provides a new spin on baseball cards and collective tickets, but these rare digital assets will help evolve the whole collector space. It’s exciting to dive into this emerging technology with Twins fans!”
Earlier this season, the Twins became the first team in Major League Baseball to provide a commemorative NFT for all Season Ticket Holders. Tickets for the Twins-Rays game and “Byron Buxton NFT Night” on June 10 are available for purchase now via twinsbaseball.com, by calling 612-33-TWINS or 1-800-33-TWINS, or in-person at the Target Field Ticket Office.
Candy Digital is a next-generation digital collectible company offering digital assets for fans and collectors, while serving as Major League Baseball’s official NFT ecosystem. “Byron Buxton NFT Night” at Target Field is part of a special, collectible ticket series with Candy and select MLB clubs throughout the 2022 season.
