Another day, another NFT Twitter drama, this one starring a Bored Ape NFT owner with the Twitter handle @Yieldasaurus. He spent the day trading barbs with several different people who took issue with several of his tweets.
The drama all began with a now-deleted tweet from Yieldasaurus, who makes much of the fact that he is the owner of four Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs. To sum up, the tweet took aim at people who use NFTs less than $100,000 as their PFPs. Basically, the tweet suggested that only owners of the most expensive NFTs had opinions that mattered.
Needless to say, NFT Twitter didn’t take kindly to the semi-viral tweet, with people pointing out the elitism and insensitivity behind it. Unfortunately, Yieldesaurus only made the situation worse by responding to many of the replies to his tweet.
The theme of the Bored Ape NFT owner’s replies was more of the same as his initial tweet, mainly just insulting people for not being as rich and successful from buying jpegs as he is. Worst of all were the sexist tweets back at some women who had commented on what he was saying.
Eventually, all of the negative posting got back to him and he eventually decided to back down. It wasn’t exactly an apology, but it at the very least acknowledged that he needed to do better. In any case, NFT Twitter isn’t letting him off easy, to say the least.
