The company has signed a 20-year agreement to procure 1.1 gigawatts (GW) of carbon-free electricity from Exelon Generation’s Braidwood nuclear power plant located in Braidwood, Illinois. This substantial power purchase agreement (PPA) represents a major step towards Meta’s broader sustainability goals and underscores the growing role of nuclear energy in powering the computationally intensive demands of the digital economy.
