Let’s face it: The NFT space moves really fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.
Don’t get us wrong — the more people onboarded into the space, the merrier. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.
Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you, as we put together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss. Here’s what to look out for this week.
Who: Candan
What: Two three-edition pieces of NFT art
When: January 3 @ 2:00 p.m. ET
Where: Nifty Gateway
Why: Doodle illustrator Candan’s latest creative offering is an exploration of the empathy involved in the act of simply “facing” others. Done in Candan’s signature black-and-white illustrated style, dozens of smaller faces converge into one more prominent face on each piece in the drop.

What: A unique NFT game that combines strategy game mechanics with NFT art collecting
When: January 5 @ 2:00 p.m. ET
Where: Deeds of the World
Why: What if you could collect… the world? Deeds of the World hopes to offer its players such an experience. Through collecting in-game territories, players can eventually collect deeds representing entire countries. Best of all, each of the 237 deeds planned for inclusion in-game will be represented by artworks created by artists from corresponding countries IRL.
Who: Hossein Goshtasbi
What: Collection mechanics TBA
When: January 5 @ 6:30 p.m. ET
Where: MakersPlace
Why: Iranian photographer Hossein Goshtasbi’s latest creative offering sees the artist’s unique “poetic conceptualism” take another leap forward. By merging dreamy, almost impressionist settings with recurring surrealist motifs seen throughout Goshtasbi’s body of work, the artist hopes to elicit a sense of intrigue from the viewer. And his latest output, Poems of Solitude, is no different.
