Ukrainian crypto exchange WhiteBIT has partnered with leading European football club FC Barcelona as its official cryptocurrency exchange partner till June 30 2025. 
WhiteBIT, which touts itself as “the largest European crypto-to-fiat exchange from Ukraine” has collaborated with FC Barcelona, to offer different offline and online events to unify football fans and the crypto community. Also, the WhiteBIT will serve as global partner to various important parts of the spanish football giant, such as the women’s and men’s teams and the club’s indoor sports ecosystem, like rolley hockey, futsal, basketball and handball.
In a Blog post posted by WhiteBIT on December 13, 2022, it stated that “cooperation involves not only media presence during games of the main teams, but also star collaborations, joint projects and much more. The development of advanced technologies does not stand still, just like the development of professional sports. That is why we choose to walk this path together!”   
The Soccer giant disclosed that its major motive is to raise awareness of the sports community in the crypto space. WhiteBIT has over 3 million users worldwide, serving in 150 countries with more than 700 specialists in their team. 
According to a press release issued in February 2020, FC Barcelona had inked an agreement with blockchain-based fan engagement platform Chiliz. It was an essential part of Barca’s new commercial and digital game plan, which allows the club to stay connected with its international fans via FC Barcelona Fan Token (BAR). 
According to CNBC, the G.O.A.T Leonel Messi, former star player of FC Barcelona and Argentina’s captain has partnered with NFT trading game Sorare as a brand ambassador and an investor.    
With an investment of $144 million, Crypto.com is a major sports patron at the FIFA World Cup final between France and Argentina, as per Bloomberg. In 2021, now-bust crypto exchange FTX had spent nearly $100 million on sports partnerships, as per data from GlobalData. The total FIFA sponsorship revenue is estimated to be $1.70 billion in 2022.
As per media reports, in May 2022, WhiteBIT CEO Volodymyr Nosov announced on his instagram that the firm had donated $10 million UAH to Volodymyr Zelensky’s United24 fund to help Ukraine in the war against Russia. Also, the charity NFT collections “Avatars for Ukraine” were released, created by the artists of Fantastic Beasts, Marvel Movies, Mortal Kombat, Star Trek and more.
