Quick take:
NFT utility platform, Tropee, today announced that it has raised €5 million in a seed round led by Tioga Capital.
The round, which closed in August, saw participation from Lorens Huculak, co-head of NFT aggregator, Gem, which was acquired by OpenSea; Thibault Launay, CEO & co-founder of Exclusible, which also raised $5 million led by Tioga Capital; The Sandbox co-founder & COO Sébastien Borget; and Grégoire le Jeune.
Tropee helps creators deliver post-mint experiences, also known as utilities, to NFT holders. The platform aims to simplify the process of injecting NFTs with utilities. The new funding will be used to further develop the platform and expand Tropee’s team.
The free-to-use, no-code platform allows creators to select ready-to-go utilities ranging from merchandise and events to discounts, whitelists, raffles, exclusive airdrops, videos and gated links for NFT holders. They can also segment their holders based on NFT attributes and behaviours in order to deliver the relevant utility to the right holders.
Founded in May last year, Tropee has already enabled brands like Frederique Constant, 20 Mint, NFT Paris, Rug Radio, G-Star RAW and Christian Lacroix to build and deliver digital and physical utilities to their NFT holders.
Besides helping creators deliver utilities, anyone in the NFT community can quickly and easily discover, build and collect utility NFTs. The platform also provides a dashboard where creators can have an overview of their utility campaigns.
“Tropee aims to be community-based – we are creating the foundations of an ecosystem, focused on utilities, physical and/or digital,” said Guillaume Lestrade, co-founder at Tropee.
François Mahl, co-founder at Tropee added: “We firmly believe that the next phase of the NFT industry will be taking NFTs beyond ‘just’ being a JPEG or piece of art. We’re pleased to be at the forefront of this market revolution – helping creators ensure their collection remains dynamic and attractive, and helping holders get more value from their tokens.”
Tropee currently supports Ethereum and Polygon but is working on adding other blockchains.
