Creator of the Black Cats NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), SHHAN, addressed the community via his tweet on December 11. He explained why he blocked all his posts on community social pages written in Mandarin.
NFT is digital art that can be preserved in any form, such as music, videos, tweets, art, in-game items and many more. They are traded online and can be either sold or bought, with the help of cryptocurrencies. NFTs’ history dates back to 2014. In 2014, the first NFT was created by Kevin Mckoy. It is also among the areas which have been successful in recent years.
In November, the football legend Leonel Messi closed a deal with the French NFT-based trading game Sorare to be its brand ambassador. With the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022, Qatar, companies whose business primarily deals with NFTs are capitalizing on the game’s frenzy.
As per reports, the daily average number of sales of NFT on the Ethereum blockchain are 9,275 and total daily average sales value is 0.09 million NFTs attracted a lot of attention after the crypto art piece “First 5000 Days” from Beeple created by the American Digital Artist, Mike Winklemann, was sold for a record $69 millions, making it the most expensive NFT purchase so far.
The Black cats NFT creator SHHAN made this move soon after users called out his actions as unfair. Further, SHHAN, conveyed it through post in Chinese:
“It is because I previously announced on Twitter and Discord that my team is trying to enter the North American market. Therefore, I recommend everyone to use English when responding to Twitter posts. Why do this? Because when I spoke with North American holders [of our NFTs], they told us comments on the Mimic Twitter page are almost exclusively in Chinese, so it was very hard for them to feel the culture of the Mimic community.”
NFT’s use cases have increased substantially – stretching to art, investment products, fashion, collectibles, brands, virtual lands, metaverse, social media, licenses and many more.
SHHAN explained that he posted to the audiences on the Discord platform, in which users prefer English but the “vast majority of people did not appear to follow it.” Mimic Shhans features “playful black cat” NFTs minted upon Ethereum blockchain and with different dress combinations in late October. Recently as seen on OpenSea, the project holds 2,001 users at a time with over 258 Ether (ETH) in trading volume since the initial stage.
