There are few celebrities on the planet who are as widely known, universally revered, and undeniably accomplished as Cristiano Ronaldo. One of the greatest footballers to ever kick a ball, the current Manchester United striker is on par with some of the sports most-esteemed players.
And now Ronaldo is taking his influence from the pitch to the world of NFTs. He announced an exclusive deal with Binance to bring his very own collection to life. Moreover, the collaboration is part of a global marketing campaign from the cryptocurrency platform to bring the accessibility of Web3 to potential new users.
In a statement, Binance Co-Founder He Yi commented on the recently announced partnership. Stating, “We believe the metaverse and blockchain are the future of the internet. We are honored to collaborate with Cristiano to help more people understand blockchain and showcase how we are building Web3 infrastructure for the sports and entertainment industry.”
Ronaldo added in the statement, “It was important to me that we created something memorable and unique for my fans as they are such a big part of my success.” The footballer added, “With Binance, I was able to make something that not only captures the passion of the game but rewards fans for all the years of support.”
The collection is set to feature seven animated statues on four different rarity levels. Additionally, those rarity levels are Super Super Rare (SSR), Super Rare (SR), Rare (R), and Normal (N). With each category also depicting an iconic moment of the icon’s professional and personal life.
