In a truly iconic style, the NFT platform ‘Iconic Moments’ has announced the partnership with The White House Historical Association (WHHA) and PROOF to create a limited edition NFT for Grails Collections.
Notably, this partnership records WHHA’s first step into the NFT space. It is also for the first time that PROOF Collective has invited an NFT marketplace to participate in its Grails Collections.
Grails Collections depicts original works by several diverse artists from around the world. PROOF members will be exclusively entitled to mint these unique pieces but the catch is, the respective artists’ identities will not be revealed to them until after the minting process is done.

The ‘Iconic-WHHA’ NFT is created by the artist, Linda Dounia Rebeiz and is titled as ‘Sparrows Do Not Fear the Sun’.
The artist uses a blend of both physical and digital art mediums and embodies artificial intelligence. This is how she pays tribute to Alma Thomas, a Black female artist, the champion of this style, and whose artwork ‘Resurrection’ was selected as inspiration for the NFT.
Resurrection has its own artistic history. The work was acquired for the White House Collection with the help of George B. Hartzog, Jr., and the White House Acquisition Trust/WHHA. Resurrection is also the first work of art by a Black woman to be added to the White House Collection.
What’s even more exciting is that First Lady Michelle Obama unveiled the artwork in February 2015 and revealed its place of honor facing the Old Family Dining Room.
Chris Cummings, the Founder and CEO of Iconic Moments said, “We are excited to partner with Linda, an incredible artist, and PROOF to bring awareness and funding to one of America’s most Iconic institutions: the WHHA.”
Cummings called the event the launching point for evolving the experience of museums, culture, and art.
