The following items were taken from area police department reports and news releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.
Battery
Reyna Castro, 40, of the 10400 block of Crown Road, Franklin Park, was charged with domestic battery at 7:38 a.m. July14.
Kristie Johnson, 67, of the 100 block of North Pine Street, Elmhurst, was charged with two counts of domestic battery at 8:19 p.m. July 17.
Burglary
A bag and other items were reported taken from a Land Rover on the 500 block of West Babcock Avenue between July 8 and July 15.
Criminal damage/defacement
An officer located a damaged fire extinguisher box in the Addison parking deck, 149 N. Addison Ave., at 8:47 p.m. July 16.
Also in the Addison deck, on July 17, at 5:54 p.m., an officer located an activated fire alarm, a discharged fire extinguisher and a damaged fire extinguisher cabinet.
A patrolling officer noticed writing on a gas pump at Thorntons, 476 N. York St., apparently put there between 10 p.m. July 16 and 12:45 a.m. July 17.
A resident on the 600 block of Oaklawn Avenue reported on July 20 that the Comcast cable to the home had been cut.
Drugs
Antonio Tucker, 18, of the 5000 block of West Washington Boulevard, Chicago, was cited for possession of cannabis and for driving with illegally tinted windows at 12:13 a.m. July 15.
Thomas Alvarado, 21, of the 700 block of North York Street, Elmhurst, was cited for possession of cannabis at 9:03 p.m. July 15.
Devontae Hamp, 27, of the 1100 block of Newcastle Avenue, Westchester, was cited for possession of cannabis by a driver, driving without insurance and driving with expired registration at 3:54 a.m. July 16.
Jehova Bue, 23, of the 1300 block of South 60th Avenue, Cicero, was cited for possession of cannabis by a driver and for speeding at 5:59 a.m. July 17.
Mayra Balbuena-Benitez, 44, of the 2800 block of South Homan Avenue, Chicago, was cited for possession of cannabis by a passenger at 3:21 p.m. July 18.
In the same incident, Manuel Hernandez, 28, of the 1700 block of Mansard Lane, Mount Prospect, was cited for obstructing identification.
Karl Williams, 36, of the 9800 block of Garden Court, Schiller Park, was cited for possession of cannabis at 3:25 a.m. July 20.
DUI
Emilio Sosa, of the 1500 block o North 21st Avenue, Melrose Park, was charged with driving under the influence, obstructing justice and improper lane use at 2:38 a.m. July 17.
Heliodoro Gutierrez, 53, of the 3500 block of Harvey Avenue, Berwyn, was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane use and transport of open alcohol at 2:47 a.m. July 21.
Identity theft
An unknown suspect reportedly make two unauthorized purchases from a resident’s checking account on July 5.
A resident reported on July 16 that an unknown suspect had tried to open a credit card account using the resident’s information on July 13.
Theft
A white woman in her twenties, dressed in gray shirt and pants, reportedly left Jewel Osco, 153 E. Schiller St., at 11:15 p.m. July 15 with multiple skin care products and over the counter medicines for which she hadn’t paid.
A Black man in a baseball cap and blue and white Boys and Girls Club shirt left the same Jewel Osco at 8:45 a.m. July 16 with two bags of over the counter medicines and batteries without paying.
A yellow Giant Escape bicycle was reported stolen from a rack where it was locked near the east side of the Prairie Path at Spring Road between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. July 15.
A catalytic converter was reported taken from a 2009 Toyota Prius in a lot near Hamburger Heaven, 281 N. York St., between 4:15 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. July 17. A suspect was described as a Black male in a ski mask and wearing a dark jacket with strips on the sleeves.
A bottle of medicine was reported taken from a backpack in the medication room of The Grove of Elmhurst, 127 W. Diversey Ave., between 3 p.m. and midnight July 15.
A catalytic converter was reported taken from a Mitsubishi Outlander in a lot at Elmhurst Hospital, 155 E. Brush Hill Rd., between July 17 and July 19.
The rear license plate was reported taken from a vehicle in a lot in the 600 block of South York Street between July 17 and July 19.
A catalytic converter was reported taken from a vehicle in a lot at Elmhurst Hospital between 6 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. July 19.
Theft by deception
A resident reported on July 14 that he had been deceived by an email purportedly from a cryptocurrency website asking for his account information and password. He later discovered cryptocurrency had been taken from his account.
Traffic violations
Carlos Cortes-Canedo, 22, of the 1500 block of North 39th Avenue, Stone Park, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving without insurance and failing to wear a seat belt at 8:29 p.m. July 14.
Destiny Hawkins, 20, of the 1000 block of Oakland Drive, Streamwood, was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, driving without insurance, improper lane use and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident at 2:22 p.m. July 15.
Damon Williams, 30, of the 5700 block of West Superior Street, Chicago, was cited for speeding and for driving without insurance at 11:45 p.m. July 15.
Edgar Trujillo Villa, 43, of the 800 block of North Kolin Avenue, Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license, possession of open alcohol and speeding at 4:46 a.m. July 16.
Michael Bolla, 44, of the 2N700 block of Morningside Avenue, West Chicago, was charged with obstructing identification, driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving with suspended registration and driving without insurance at 9:54 a.m. July 16.
Allen White, 65, of the 5100 block of South Loomis Street, Chicago, was charged with reckless driving, driving with a revoked driver’s license, improper use of registration, fleeing and eluding and driving without insurance at 10:01 a.m. July 16.
Michael Guzman, 21, of the 500 block of East Comstock Avenue, Addison, was charged with driving with a revoked driver’s license, improper lighting and driving without insurance at 3:33 a.m. July 17.
Austin Hegler, 29, of the 2600 block of Clear Creek Court, Plainfield, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license, driving without insurance and disobeying a stop sign at 9:22 a.m. July 19.
Ola Bounds, 34, of the 400 block of West Division Street, Villa Park, was charged with driving with a suspended driver’s license and improper lighting at 11:57 p.m. July 19.
Brianna Narbaiz, 21, of the 1600 block of Monroe Lane, Hanover Park, was charged with failing to reduce speed to avoid a crash, driving without insurance and driving without a valid driver’s license at 2:05 p.m. July 20.
Julian Pena, 20, of the 4N100 block of Chestnut Street, Addison, was charged with driving without a valid driver’s license and driving with only one headlight at 10:52 p.m. July 20.
In the same incident, Tyreek Meyrell, 25, of the 1200 block of Pleasant Avenue, Glendale Heights, was cited for possession of cannabis.
