The reigning Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is offering commemorative NFTs and NFT tickets for its first tour of Japan in 27 years. The information is according to the details published on the team’s tour website.
“In the summer of 2022, Paris Saint-Germain, one of the best football clubs in the world, will tour Japan! To commemorate their first visit to Japan in 27 years, we will be offering premium NFT tickets and commemorative NFTs that you can only get here and now.”
Three NFT tickets are included for each of the three planned Japanese matches. At the current exchange rate, each ticket would cost almost $205k or 180.36 ETH. Notably, Wednesday marks the end of the NFT ticket sales. Owners of tickets will have access to the VIP area and the players’ VIP party.
The commemorative NFTs, meanwhile, will highlight significant events from the club’s trip that were documented on film and in photographs. It’s important to note that the opening game will take place on July 20 against Kawasaki Frontale from Japan. The renowned Lionel Messi will be among the stars for PSG.
Interestingly, the French soccer team has included cryptocurrency and NFTs in more of its recent campaigns. The club announced in June that it will work with Taiwanese pop singer Jay Chou to develop an NFT collection to commemorate its 10th league victory and the year of the tiger.
The popularity of cryptocurrency in sports seems to be increasing as more teams form collaborations with cryptocurrency companies. It’s important to note that cryptocurrency businesses continue to use sports to reach new audiences.
