It’s the Year of the Tiger, and Tiger Beer Malaysia wanted to mark the special occasion by launching a new product. No, it wasn’t a beer. Instead, the brewer decided to collaborate with Malaysian streetwear company Pestle & Mortar Clothing to launch an NFT collection.
The collection, dubbed The Tiger Archives, consists of 6,688 unique hand-drawn NFTs. Getting your hands on one might prove to be challenging since they were sold out in minutes after going on sale on OpenSea. The inspiration design for the NFTs was from the noble tiger. Then the other NFTs were variations of the ‘Lucky Tiger’ in different poses and themes. Besides supporting their brand, investors buying a Tiger Beer NFT will have exclusive access to merchandise and special experiences.
The fact that the NFT collection is about Tiger Beer’s campaign to achieve bold ambitions in 2022 might have something to do with it.
The bold and courageous stance seems to be a philosophy that the company is following since it moved to brew beer despite some people saying that it was a bad move.
But Tiger Beer’s move into the Web3 space isn’t novel in the alcoholic beverage industry. Several other prominent beer brands have already made the move. One of them is Heineken launching a virtual beer in Metaverse. Even Absolut vodka launched a Coachella-themed Metaverse.
The NFT marketplace is growing at a phenomenal pace, and some analysts predict that it will be worth $147 billion by 2026. It’s no wonder that numerous companies have jumped on the wagon to get their share.
Maybe now is the time to buy NFTs.
