Legendary British actor Anthony Hopkins has taken the crypto plunge, asking other Hollywood celebrities which NFTs he should purchase.
According to a report by Andrew Hayward for Decrypt, Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins is looking to purchase his first NFT and is leveraging other celebrity personalities to help in the decision. Hopkins, who starred in the 2021 film Zero Contact, which was released as an NFT via the platform Vuele, has taken to Twitter to learn more about crypto.
Hopkins recently changed his official Twitter display name to the Ethereum Name Service (ENS) name “AHopkins.eth”, which corresponds to a crypto wallet. The name change is in-line with other crypto supporting celebrities, such as Jimmy Fallon.
In addition to the name change, Hopkins tweeted that he was “astonished” by the quantity of talented NFT artists and asked for recommendations on acquiring his first piece of NFT art. Hopkins tagged celebrities Snoop Dogg, Jimmy Fallon and Reese Witherspoon — who all experience with NFTs — in his tweet.
Fallon responded to the tweet, agreeing that there are “a bunch of great artists out there,” while also calling the NFT community “fun.” While Fallon was coy to provide an NFT artist recommendation, he did ask Hopkins to DM him.
I love your pondering photo. There a bunch of great artists out there and it’s a fun community in general. But, as the great Aaron Neville once said “I don’t know much – but I know I love you.” And that may be all you need to know. DM me. https://t.co/uQ1mC2zy40 pic.twitter.com/ljQrxllo3X
